Advertised show hours will be 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Saturday and 9 AM - 3 PM Sunday. Please plan to remain in the show hall during advertised show hours. We need our gate!

Show Rules: TICA show rules will be strictly enforced. By entering, exhibitors agree to abide by the decisions of the judges and show committee. Official show rules, registration information and forms may be obtained from TICA, P.O. Box 2684, Harlingen, TX 78551 or viewed on their website at www.tica.org.

Registration: With the exception of cats competing in the Preliminary New Breed, Advanced New Breed, and New Traits classes, registration with TICA is not necessary to compete in the cat's first show. However, to be scored for TICA titles and Regional / International awards, all cats must be registered by their second show. Please contact TICA for registration forms and information (TICA, P. O. Box 2684, Harlingen, TX 78551).

Health: This is a non–vetted show: Standing Rule 205.3 - 205.3.5: Any cat showing signs of illness, parasites or fungus will be escorted from the show hall. All entries should be vaccinated against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and feline enteritis, and should test negative for feline leukemia and feline AIDS. Any cat or kitten from a house or cattery where there has been fungus or any infectious or contagious illness within 21 days prior to the opening date of the show is ineligible for entry and or exhibition. Cats obviously pregnant are ineligible for competition. North Carolina law requires any animal over the age of 4 months be vaccinated against rabies within the last 12 months (be prepared to show proof). TICA show rules require all claws, front and back, be clipped prior to benching.

Cats For Sale: Sales cages will be available to exhibitors ONLY and must be owned by the same paid exhibitor. Kittens must be three (3) calendar months of age. Proof of age must be provided on request. No kittens-cats may be confined to carriers during show hours. Any person disregarding these rules will be asked to leave the show. North Carolina requires health certificates accompany any animal sold in the state. BJCC takes no responsibility for your failure to familiarize yourself with applicable NC statutes.

Kittens: Kittens entered in the show must be at least four month, but less than eight months of age on the day of the show. Show Rule 23.8.1: No kitten under the age of 3 calendar months is permitted in the show hall under any circumstance. Kittens may be spayed or neutered.

Household Pets: Household pets 8 months of age and older MUST be spayed or neutered. If you are not sure of the proper class or color of your cat, check out http://www.seregiontica.org/Colors/intro.htm or send the entry clerk a color photo of your entry. Photo will be returned at the show. Declawed Household Pets are OK at TICA shows due to the number of HHPs that are declawed rescue cats.

Benching and Supplies: A single cage space (22” x 22”) is provided for each cat entered. Two (2) kittens or one (1) cat are permitted in a single cage. Using a wire or single security cage requires you must purchase the extra single space if you do not have a second entry and expect a double (22" x 44") space. A grooming or exhibition-only space is the same size as a double cage space: 22” x 44”. All cages must be covered on the top, sides, back, and bottom. Everyone is expected to supply their own litter and litter boxes; however, we will have a limited amount of litter. Special benching requests will be honored to the best of our ability. "Handicapped" is a benching request and only one request is considered. Agent request takes priority over benching request. Clerks will be benched first. Vending from the benching area is strictly prohibited.

Clerks: If interested in clerking at the show, please contact the entry clerk. Our clerks will be paid $30 per day, provided lunch, a marked catalog, and may have preferential benching. Requests for specific judges will be considered; however, all assignments are at the discretion of show management. Trainees and assistants are welcome. Clerks may not deduct anticipated clerk payment from entry fees.

Ring Sponsorships: Ring Sponsorship is greatly appreciated: Individual Ring $55 per judge / per session – opportunity for 12 ring spponsorships. Commercial Sponsors $300.

Awards: Rosettes will be awarded in accordance with TICA show rules.

Liability: Show Rules 29.1.1.2: The show management shall take all reasonable care of cats, carriers and other personal property of exhibitors, but it is expressly stipulated that neither the show management nor any member of the club nor the club sponsoring the show can be held pecuniary liable for the loss of or accident to the cats, carriers or other personal property of any exhibitor. Neither Black Jack Cat Club, Cleveland County Fairgrounds, Super 8 Shelby or Americas Best Value Inns or any other hotel that exhibitors may choose, nor TICA may be held liable for loss, theft, or damage to animals, personal property, exhibitors or their guests.
