All cats shown in the Kitten, Championship, and Alter classes must be TICA registered or eligible for registration. If not registered, proof of registration eligibility is required to enter the show. Contact the entry clerk for more information on how to enter your cat, kitten, or alter without at TICA registration number. Household Pets and Household Pet Kittens do not need to be TICA registered to compete. However, to be scored for TICA titles and regional / International awards, all cats (other than household pet kittens) must be registered by their second show. Please contact TICA for registration forms and information (TICA, P. O. Box 2684, Harlingen, TX 78551).
Show Rules: TICA show rules will be strictly enforced. By entering, exhibitors agree to abide by the decisions of the judges and show committee. Official show rules, registration information and forms may be obtained from TICA, P.O. Box 2684, Harlingen, TX 78551 or viewed on their website at www.tica.org.
Benching: All exhibitors must check in at the door prior to benching. Our fees are kept as low as possible to help you, the exhibitor. A single cage space, approx. 22" X 22" X 22", is provided for each cat entered. The fee for a single cage space is $25. You will not be permitted to purchase a single cage space on its own without an entry. Two (2) kittens or one (1) cat are permitted in a single space / cage. The show is benched by Double Cage space only. Using a wire or single security cage requires you must purchase the extra 1/2 cage space if you do not have a second entry and expect a double (22" x 44") space. Odd numbered entries are priced and include the extra half cage. We place cages according to what is submitted on the summary form. If you answer "Own Cage" with *no* (meaning you are not bringing your own cage), a wire cage sized to your entry payment will be placed. If you took advantage of an Early Bird special, the extra 1/2 cage space is included with a 3-cat or 1-cat special. Please let us know if you are providing your own cage.
The two sides of the cage, back, and top must be covered. For the comfort of your cat(s), please bring something for the bottom of the cage too! TICA rules allow no more than two (2) kittens or one (1) cat benched in a single cage. NO KITTENS OR CATS MAY BE CONFINED TO CARRIERS, EITHER DISPLAYED OR UNDER CAGES, DURING SHOW HOURS. Any person disregarding these rules will be asked to leave the show.
Special benching requests will be honored to the best of our ability. Only one benching request may be submitted. Agent request take priority over benching request. Clerks will be benched first. Vending from the benching area is prohibited.
Grooming spaces: These measure 22 inches x 22 inches x 44 inches, the size of a double cage space.
Health: We are attempting to have a vetted show. Please bring proof of vaccinations on all cats entered. Standing Rule 205.3 - 205.3.5: Any cat showing signs of illness, parasites or fungus will be escorted from the show hall. All entries should be vaccinated against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and feline enteritis, and should test negative for feline leukemia and feline AIDS. Any cat or kitten from a house or cattery where there has been fungus or any infectious or contagious illness within twenty one (21) days prior to the opening date of the show is ineligible for entry and / or exhibition. Cats obviously pregnant are ineligible for competition. Florida law requires any animal over the age of four (4) months be vaccinated against rabies within the last twelve (12) months (be prepared to show proof)! TICA show rules require all claws, front and back, be clipped prior to benching.
Florida State law requires rabies inoculation. Exhibitors should bring proof of rabies vaccination.
Cats For Sale: Sales cages will be available to exhibitors ONLY and must be owned by the same / paid exhibitor. Florida requires health certificates accompany any animal sold in the state. Mystical Moon Cat Club and TICA take no responsibility for your failure to familiarize yourself with applicable FL statutes. Health Certificates will be checked.
Kittens: All kittens entered for competition must be at least four (4) and less than eight (8) calendar months old on the day of the show. No kitten under three (3) months of age will be allowed in the show hall (be prepared to show proof of age). Kittens may be spayed or neutered.
Household Pets: Household pets are very welcome at this show! Declawed Household Pets are OK at TICA shows. This is due to the number of HHPs that are rescue cats and may have already been declawed at the time of rescue. Household pets eight (8) months of age and older MUST be spayed or neutered. If you are not sure of the proper division or color of your cat, check out http://www.seregiontica.org/Colors/intro.htm or send the entry clerk a color photo of your entry. Photo will be returned at check in.
Supplies: Everyone is expected to supply their own litter and litter boxes; however, we will have a limited amount of litter and disposable cardboard litter boxes as a courtesy to those who fly-in to exhibit at our show. Please bring your own cat food and food dishes.
Awards: Awards will be awarded in accordance with TICA show rules. This show is scored for TICA Regional and International awards.
