Show
Hall: Minnreg Center 6340 126th Avenue North,
Largo, FL 33773. The show hall is a non-smoking, climate
controlled, wheelchair accessible facility with breakfast
and lunch available - this show is special with our fish
fry lunch!
Show
Hotel: ECONOLODGE (727-573-3334) 3910 Ulmerton Road,
Clearwater, FL 33762 (previously Days Inn
same great
location!) Hotel is located 3.5 miles from show hall with
shuttle service to/from Tampa (TPA) or St. Pete/Clearwater
(PIE) airports for hotel guests. Special rate of $49 includes
Continental Breakfast and pet fee waived but you must
call the hotel direct (group name SKYWAY CAT CLUB) and
is valid through April 14, 2012 or until block is filled.
Rooms booked online are not eligible for show rate and
will be charged a pet fee. Please support the club by
using the show hotel. Check in is 4 PM. Check out is 11
AM.
Please
be sure to confine spraying males (and females) and clean
up after yourself and your cats so we will be welcome
again. CATS MUST BE CONFINED WHEN UNATTENDED IN ROOM.
Skyway Cat Club has elected to follow the TICA
Hotel Room Inspection Procedures for exhibitors who
lodge at the show hotel. Entry in this show and lodging
at show hotel shall constitute an acknowledgment by and
consent of the exhibitor to these procedures.
Please
make every effort to leave your room in the condition
it was found, or better. Tipping housekeeping staff does
not hurt. A happy housekeeping staff does not complain
to management! Trash bags and litter will be available
for your convenience. If you have a problem you cannot
take care of yourself, please let show management know
and we will do whatever we can to help. The condition
of your room reflects on the entire cat fancy, and and
it only takes one mishap to lose a hotel (even a whole
chain) forever.
Transportation:
Tampa International Airport (TPA) or St. Petersburg/Clearwater
(PIE) airports are the most accessible. If you are flying
in, the Econolodge will provide a shuttle for guests to
and from both airports between 7:30 AM and 9:30 PM. You
must call (727) 573-3334 when you arrive and have luggage
in hand to request the hotel shuttle. There is also Super
Shuttle and is reasonably priced (727) 572-1111. Limos,
taxis and car rentals are also available at the airport.
Please leave plenty of time for your departing flight
(we recommend flights leaving 7:30 PM or later). ONLY
exhibitors staying at the show hotel may ride the hotel
shuttle. Please provide your name and ID to the driver.
Using the van illegally will cause the club to lose the
Shuttle Services. This a special service provided to the
Skyway Cat Club for its exhibitors and judges staying
at the show hotel.
Early
Bird: Expires March 12, 2012 . 3 entries + ½
cage $228, 1 entry + ½ cage $98. See Summary Sheet

Judging will begin promptly at 8:30 AM on Saturday and
Sunday. Advertised show hours will be 8:30 AM to 6:00
PM both days. Please plan to remain in the show hall during
advertised show hours. Also be aware of Show Rule 212.7:
All cats shall be presented for final awards during advertised
show hours, unless special permission to leave has been
granted by the Show Manager. No cats may remain in show
hall overnight and smoking is not allowed in the show
hall.
Show
Rules: TICA show rules will be strictly enforced.
By entering, exhibitors agree to abide by the decisions
of the judges and show committee. Official show rules,
registration information and forms may be obtained from
TICA, P.O.
Box 2684, Harlingen, TX 78551 or viewed on their website
at www.tica.org.
Payment:
By entering the show, you agree to pay all fees whether
you attend the show or not. Fees must be received no later
than the closing date of April 16, 2012. The club reserves
the right to require payment in cash or money order. Entries
belonging to exhibitors on TICA's Temporary or Permanent
Suspension lists will not be accepted. Skyway Cat Club
will pursue any debt owed us to the extent of TICA show
rules and Florida law.
Registration:
With the exception of cats competing in the Preliminary
New Breed, Advanced New Breed, and New Traits classes,
registration with TICA is not required to compete. However,
to be scored for TICA titles and regional / International
awards, all cats must be registered by their second show.
Health:
This is a nonvetted show. Any cat showing signs
of illness, parasites or fungus will be escorted from
the show hall, along with any cats owned, housed or augmented
by the same exhibitor. All entries should be vaccinated
against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calici and distemper
(panleukopenia) at least two weeks prior to the show,
and should test negative for feline leukemia and FIV (feline
AIDS). Florida law requires any animal over the
age of 4 months be vaccinated against rabies within the
last 12 months (be prepared to show proof)! TICA show
rules require all claws, front and back, be clipped prior
to judging.
Benching
and Supplies: Only one benching request may be submitted.
Agent request take priority over benching request. Clerks
will be benched first. Each entry will be provided a single
benching area measuring 22"L x 22"W x 22"H.
Full cage size is 44"L x 22"W x 22"H. You
must pay extra with a single entry to have the full (double)
cage space for your cat. Please note the club's wire cage
fee if you are not bringing your own cage. We must know
who will be providing their own cages, please make sure
we know as putting up cages unnecessarily may incur a
service fee. TICA rules allow no more than two kittens
or one cat benched in a single cage. No kitten under 3
months of age will be allowed in the show hall (be prepared
to show proof of age.) All cages must be covered on the
sides and top. You will need to bring litter pan(s), food
bowls, and food. Litter will be provided.
Show set up: Set up begins at 7 PM Friday afternoon.
You may have the opportunity of setting up your area when
benching is completed - approximately 9 PM. Vendors will
be setting up as well and need the traffic areas open.
Hall will close no later than 9:30 PM. If you come at
set up time, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Grooming
spaces:
These measure 22 inches x 22 inches x 44 inches. Space
is limited!! First come first served.
For
Sale: Sales cages will be available to exhibitors
only. TICA rules allow no more than two kittens or one
cat benched in a single cage. No kitten under 3 months
of age will be allowed in the showhall (be prepared to
show proof of age). NO KITTENS OR CATS MAY BE CONFINED
TO CARRIERS, EITHER DISPLAYED OR UNDER CAGES, DURING SHOW
HOURS. Any person disregarding these rules will be asked
to leave the show. Florida requires health certificates
accompany any animal sold in the state. If you are
bringing cats or kittens to sell, Skyway Cat Club strongly
advises you familiarize yourself with the applicable statutes
and takes no responsibility for your failure to do so.
Only exhibitors entered in the show may sell kittens and
the kittens offered for sale must be owned by same paid
exhibitor. Health Certificates will be checked for correct
owner information and for each and every kitten-cat for
sale.
Kittens:
All kittens entered for competition must be at
least four (4) and not more than eight (8) calendar
months old on the day of the show. Kittens may be
spayed or neutered.
Household
Pets: Household pets are very welcome at this show!
Declawed Household Pets are OK at TICA shows. This is
due to the number of HHPs that are rescue cats and may
have already been declawed at the time of rescue. Household
pets over 8 months of age MUST be spayed or neutered.
If you are unsure of your cats color and division,
please contact the entry clerk for help or send a color
photo of your entry. Photo will be returned at check in.
Clerks
& Stewards: Ring clerks will be compensated $30
each day of the show, plus lunch and a marked catalog.
Stewards received $20 per ring per day and lunch. Requests
for specific judges will be honored to the extent possible
and are subject to change. Currently licensed TICA clerks
will be given preference. Trainees and assistants are
welcome. Clerks and trainees will be given preferential
benching if we know in advance that you will be clerking!
Do NOT deduct clerking fees from your entry.
